Sharon Comet-Epstein is an attorney and mediator in private practice who helps people resolve divorce, family/elder/, probate, school, business, and other forms of civil disputes without the added cost, stress, hostilities, and uncertainty of going to court.
In addition to extensive training in conflict resolution, Sharon has advanced specialty training and years of experience in divorce mediation; helping parties resolve property division, financial, spousal and child support issues, and parenting time and decision-making matters.
Regardless of the nature of the conflict, Sharon’s facilitation expertise helps people peacefully and intelligently resolve their disputes and move forward, especially if children or other on-going relationships are involved.
Sharon’s mediation style helps create a context for parties to find creative satisfying resolutions to even the most complicated disputes. As a result, clients experience less hostility and stress, and are more satisfied with the outcome.
She is the current Vice-President of MANO, the Mediation Association of Northeast Ohio, a group of professionals dedicated to helping individuals and organizations resolve disputes peacefully. She is also the Immediate Past-President of the Center for Principled Family Advocacy (CPFA), a group committed to constructively and effectively resolving divorce and family law matters without fighting in court.
As a second career attorney, Sharon has a rich and varied background including a Masters degree and PhD degree from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in programs emphasizing communications, organizational behavior and negotiations.
Sharon graduated law school from CWRU in 1992, where she was an adjunct professor for over 13 years. She is a frequent speaker at professional and community sponsored programs, and an active member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA), Ohio State Bar Association and International Association of Collaborative Professionals (IACP).
For the third year in a row, Sharon is chairing the MANO Joint Conference with the Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Sections of the CMBA and the CPFA. This year’s program focuses on Powerful Communication Skills for Resolving Conflicts Peacefully.
Sharon lives in Beachwood with her husband Robert who is also an attorney.
