Increasing public awareness is an important part of MANO’s mission to promote the value of mediation as an effective method of resolving disputes peacefully in Northeast Ohio.
Mediations are facilitated by trained, neutral facilitators who assist parties to discuss the disputed issues confidentially and work together to develop a mutually satisfactory resolution. This non-adversarial, cooperative process enables parties to control the outcome of their dispute and avoid litigation.
Our members are available to present programs to area organizations and groups to demonstrate how mediation is effective in resolving many civil disputes including those which involve small businesses, landlords and tenants and many other commercial (contract, construction, manufacturing etc.), and interpersonal matters. In addition, attorney-mediators with specialized divorce and domestic relations training can effectively help parties resolve disputes involving financial and support issues and other child related matters involving parenting time and decisionmaking.
Since conflict is a natural part of everyday life, just about any forum is appropriate for talking about peaceful conflict resolution in general, and mediation in particular. We would be happy to provide your group with a speaker.
Our speakers come from a broad range of disciplines and diverse areas of practice. We can match our speakers with the particular areas of interest of your group or organization. They all can address general questions of “Why/when to mediate?” Programs with a question-answer segment generally range from 45min to one hour.
Because MANO is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization, no fees are required, though donations to benefit our services are gladly welcomed.
